National Outdoor Leadership Registration Scheme

Posted on May 1, 2019

The Outdoor Council of Australia is conducting a user review of the National Outdoor Leadership Registration Scheme (NOLRS). NOLRS was established in 2003 to provide a transparent, national benchmark of individual currency in outdoor activity leadership skills. NOLRS is a scheme for individuals who lead groups in outdoor adventure activities including:

Abseiling, bushwalking, canoeing, canyoning, caving, challenge ropes course, climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, cycle touring and sea kayaking.

Further details on the NOLRS scheme can be found online: www.outdoorcouncil.asn.au/nolrs/

 The review

There are a number of changes happening in the outdoors sector across Australia including the development of the Australian Adventure Activity Standards and the review of the national Outdoor Recreation training package.

These systems overlap with NOLRS, and therefore it is timely to review the operation of the scheme for users and plan for the future.

If you are a user of the scheme we value your support and encourage you to provide feedback.

The survey will be closing mid May.
